Las Vegas Sphere announces tours given by robots

The grand opening of the $2.3 billion Las Vegas Sphere will be a feast of crazy technology.
Not only will it host never-before-seen shows, but robots will be programmed to give people tours of the arena.

When the MSG Sphere was first revealed, organizers had big plans for its official opening.
They announced it would open on September 29 with a performance from U2.
That in itself was sure to draw a decent crowd, but now there’s so much more going into it.
CEO James Dolan said people will be guided through the Sphere by animatronic robots that will use “holographs, beam-forming sound, and a 50-foot translucent video wall”.
They will then play a film on the Sphere’s state-of-the-art LED screens.
Dolan says the hype will continue well past the grand opening too, with U2 hosting a 25-show residency at the Las Vegas Sphere.
Tickets are already on sale.
After that, he says it will be busy 365 days a year, “because when we’re not bringing in someone like U2, we’re running our own content”.
The MSG Sphere got turned on for the first time on the 4th of July and has been lighting up the Vegas skyline with incredible displays ever since.

As part of the arena’s 4th of July show, the Sphere displayed a bunch of crazy images, some wholesome and some, well, pretty creepy to be honest.
Among them was the American flag, a basketball, a picture of Earth, a Halloween pumpkin, and most bizarrely, a huge eyeball.
Since then, people have been taking to Twitter / X to share even more incredible footage.
