A team of American YouTubers has challenged one of their subscribers to fix a broken 2003 Jeep Wrangler in two hours.

He was told that if he could fix it, then he could drive the car home and keep it for free.

Despite having absolutely no knowledge of Jeep Wrangerls, Devon was determined to make it happen.

But with two false starts that cost him 20 minutes from the timer, it was far from smooth sailing, especially considering the team added new challenges throughout.

Could he fix it?

James and the team from the popular American YouTube channel Donut created the challenge.

And with the promise of a free ride, Devon got straight to it.

The only catch? Every time he asked for the wrong piece of equipment or misdiagnosed the problem, the team would remove 10 minutes from the timer.

Devon set off with a false start, thinking there was an issue with the fuse box and losing himself 10 minutes in the process.

The Donut team were aware of what problems the car was having because when they purchased the Jeep, it was in full working order so they purposely created the problems that Devon had to fix.

This isn’t the first time that the team at Donut have made changes to vehicles to see how they run, but it is one of the most interesting.

After losing a further 10 minutes from his time by investigating the perfectly working relays, Devon identified the problem was the ignition switch.

After he replaced it, the car started to run and he set off to drive it out of the workshop with plenty of time to spare.

Disaster strikes the Jeep Wrangler

While attempting his victory lap and exit from the workshop, disaster struck when the U-Joint exploded and he ground to a halt.

With not much time left to spare, Devon fixed the drive shaft and reconnected the battery.

Everything seemed in perfect working order, but Devon waited with bated breath to see if the car would work.

Miraculously, it worked and he was able to drive his new car out of the workshop.

Now the new owner of a 2003 Jeep Wrangler, Devon reflected on his experience saying that although he initially falsely thought the “fuses and relays were out of whack”, he was pleased with his work.

The Donut team team did a similar challenge with a Mercedes GL450.
