Residents of Howard County, Maryland, are pushing to have a private go-kart track in their vicinity demolished.
The track located in Mink Hollow Road was built in December 2023, and lacked the required permits and approval from local authorities.
However, despite regular complaints from neighbors, the private go-kart track was completed before a stop-work order was issued.
Now the track remains unused, but the residents are not happy with just that – they want it gone completely – talk about having the worst neighbors ever.

Man built a private go-kart track for his son
The track was built on a rural residential property, measuring 2,000 feet in length and 20 feet in width.
It was built by a dad for his son – but seems like the neighborhood couldn’t see them bonding together and having a great time.
The outrage was sparked on the basis of noise pollution and the environmental impact on the peaceful ambiance.
The poor man now seeks the approval for the conditional use of the track – all he wants is to make the private go-kart track legal. He has also filed a petition for the same.
He has even hired a land use law firm, but so far, nothing seems to be working in his favor.
Petition filed for the use of track
In a meeting held in July 2024, more than 80 residents gathered over the concern, and not even a single person supported the track’s construction.
The owner even proposed limiting the track’s use to certain days and hours and allowing only electric vehicles, but still couldn’t get anyone’s nod.
To tense the matter even further, the neighborhood raised their concern over further development on the property, such as a helipad.
Unlike the private race track in Japan, which is frequently used, this man faces slim chances of approval. However, let’s hope that, under certain conditions, he and his son are granted permission to use it.
