Mercedes has debuted its brand-new AMG GT 63 Pro 4Matic at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The latest vehicle to join the Mercedes-AMG family packs a punch and offers a ‘sportier’ driving experience than previous models.

Boasting optimized aerodynamics, the Pro is perfect for a quick spin around the racetrack.

The new car offers ‘more power’ and better aerodynamics

“More power, aerodynamic fine-tuning with further reduced aerodynamic lift and enhanced cooling contribute to increased driving dynamics and faster times on the circuit,” Mercedes says.

Engineers have increased airflow by redesigning the front fascia and upgrading the high—and low-temperature cooling circuits so the Pro’s drivetrain stays at an optimal temperature even under increased load.

The boost in the car’s cooling performance results in a boost in its performance on the racetrack.

However, away from the track, the car manufacturer has also improved everyday usability, offering plenty of room and good all-round visibility.

How does the AMG GT 63 Pro stack up against the regular model?

As its name suggests, the Pro is more powerful than the regular AMG GT 63, with its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 producing 612 horsepower.

It’s also faster – getting from zero to 200 km/h in just 10.9 seconds (0.5 seconds faster than the AMG GT 63) and with a top speed of 317 km/h.

“The new AMG GT 63 Pro is the sportiest model in our AMG GT family.

“If you’re looking to not only enjoy your AMG GT on the road but also tackle some fast laps on the race track, the GT 63 Pro is the ideal choice,” Mercedes-AMG CEO Michael Schiebe said in a press release.

“We have boosted the engine’s performance and enhanced aerodynamics with elements such as the new front apron and additional air deflectors on the underbody.

“Additional radiators in the wheel arches and electric water pumps in the top-mounted radiators ensure stability even under intense use.

“At the same time, the GT Pro offers a high degree of everyday usability.

“This blend of performance and practicality makes it a perfect addition to our AMG GT family, which has something to offer for every sports car enthusiast.”

Oh and it looks pretty good, too.
