The Plymouth Superbird is more than a car – it’s a piece of nostalgia for those who remember the golden days of American muscle cars.
For one woman – Janice – this car became a lifelong companion after she made a spontaneous decision back in 1970.
It all started when she read an article in the newspaper that mentioned the Plymouth Superbird hitting 200mph.
That’s when she knew she needed to own one.

A Newspaper Ad Inspired the Plymouth Superbird Purchase
The Superbird’s long nose, stunning Limelight Green color, incredible top speed of 200 mph – as well as the iconic Looney Tunes sticker and the famous ‘meep meep’ horn – had certainly stolen Janice’s heart.
The Plymouth Superbird in the picture is a 1970 model, and Janice bought it in the same year, hinting that she got the car when it was just new.
The incredible story of Janice and her Plymouth Superbird was covered on YouTube by Lou Costabile.
Janice’s car was purchased from H.L. Harris in Pittsburg, California, a well-known dealer of Mopar muscle cars.
Since then, her love for this special Plymouth Superbird has never faded, and she has driven her beloved car for more than 15 years.
As of 2020, the car had marked the impressive milestone of 80,000 miles, as she had been driving it almost every day.
The car still shines like new
Despite that extensive use, the beauty of this American muscle car has not faded a bit, all thanks to her genuine love and affection for the car.
Janice has lovingly restored it three times to keep it in perfect shape.
Swayed by the impressive milestone speed of 200mph, how could she resist testing out its raw power herself?
So, she’s pushed her Superbird to 150 miles per hour and above on two occasions.
Though many years have passed, Janice still remains equally passionate about the car as she was when it was first brought.
It’s safe to say, it’s a part of her family now.
