Nvidia recently announced its latest AI chip, the Blackwell B200 GPU, which is going to be the world’s most powerful chip for AI.

The company’s previous H100 chip was already an industry leader, used by powerful AI platforms like ChatGPT.

This new AI chip is up to 30 times faster than its predecessor.

Likewise, Nvidia has become a multi-trillion-dollar company in the past few years because of the sheer value of its old chips for AI.

Now, they have announced something better.

These new chips will contribute greatly towards generative AI and artificial general intelligence (AGI) growth.

The race to make AI smarter than humans is already on, and all the world needs right now is more computing power.

The company unveiled the new AI chip architecture in an in-person event that took place for the first time in five years.

“Generative AI is the defining technology of our time. Blackwell is the engine to power this new industrial revolution,” Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said in a press release.

“There is currently nothing better than NVIDIA hardware for AI,” added Elon Musk.

Moreover, the AI chip is named after Dr. David Harold Blackwell, an esteemed American mathematician.

Getting great performing chips is indeed exceptional, but this shows how dependent the current AI industry is on Nvidia.

For the same reason, these AI chips are in high demand, which directly means more than a year of wait times.

The Blackwell GPUs are so good that Nvidia itself claimed that the new AI chip is the world’s most powerful chip.

Getting access to these GPUs will greatly drive the race to make AI smarter and more accessible.

Top tech companies like OpenAI, Microsoft, and Google are already in a competitive race to make their “smart” chat assistants smarter by the day.

Apple hasn’t announced anything yet but is in talks with Google to power the iPhone with Google Gemini AI models.
