Paul Walker’s Nissan Skyline, the one he drove in Fast and Furious 4, is heading to auction.

The car was modified by Kaizo Industries under the guidance of Universal Pictures.

And more importantly, it was made specifically for Paul Walker.

Most Skylines from the Fast and Furious movies are just empty body shells on custom frames used for stunts but this one is the real deal.

It’s a 2000 model with no stickers, decals, or crazy paint colors at Walker’s request.

There’s more than meets the eye, too.

Under the relatively sober body lives a true performance beast.

The 2.6-liter twin-turbo straight-six engine was tweaked with the addition of a new intercooler.

It also features lowered springs to give it a meaner stance, new Rotora brakes and 19-inch wheels courtesy of Volk.

The cabin is equally sober.

There’s a new Momo steering wheel, and the original seats were replaced with OMP Racing Seats with five-point harnesses.

The Fast and Furious franchise opened up a Pandora’s box for this car.

The Skyline was mostly a sought-after JDM car in the underworld of street racers and tuners.

That changed when it appeared in 2Fast 2Furious, driven of course by Paul Walker as Brian O’Conner.

It went mainstream and its reputation was further cemented in Fast and Furious 4.

Prices for pre-owned Skyline R34 models have been rising since.

This one may end up breaking the current record for the most expensive Skyline ever sold, currently held by a rare purple example (pictured below) which fetched around $670,000 last year.

Paul Walker’s Skyline was supposed to go on sale late last year but the auction was postponed.

A pre-auction estimate hasn’t been provided but we wouldn’t rule out a 7-figure sale on this occasion.

In any case, Bonhams is now overseeing the auction, which is scheduled for April 28.

Stay tuned.
