Every now and then car brands step away from making cars to create quirky things, and Porsche is no exception — because its latest creation is a slick spaceship for an upcoming video game.

Although Porsche is no stranger to designing something that isn’t cars, a futuristic one-of-a-kind was certainly on anybody’s bingo card.

The video game in question was revealed last week, and its trailer’s protagonist was easily the bright-red laser-filled spaceship with the brand’s logo.

Well, hardcore collectors will have to become gamers if they want to own the automaker’s latest ‘vehicle’ because it’s virtual.

Porsche created a spaceship for a video game

Video game developer Naughty Dog unveiled its latest game, and it’s called Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

If that name doesn’t ring a bell, it’s the same company that made icons like The Last of Us and Uncharted video game series.

While video game vehicles — especially the popular GTA cars — are often inspired by actual cars, it’s not every day that a carmaker designs a vehicle for a video game.

Anyway, the game was revealed via a trailer at an award show, and nobody could mistake a bright red spaceship with an illuminated Porsche nameplate in its iconic font.

The spaceship even has a name — 984 Tempest NDX.

Moreover, this vessel will be the game protagonist’s primary ‘means of transport,’ if you may.

Behold, the 984 Tempest NDX

Although there are a handful of the automaker’s logos put throughout the spaceship, you can’t mistake it for anything other than a Porsche creation because of the livery.

The pattern is similar to the carmaker’s older race cars, and it undeniably fits well on something so futuristic.

If that wasn’t appealing already, the video game trailer even showed the 984 Tempest NDX’s interior.

It has a very retro-futuristic vibe going on the inside and features minimalistic 1980s-themed tech with a modern taste.

The attention to detail was great with this one, and it shows.

We’ve seen pop culture spaceships like the Millennium Falcon from Star Wars come to life.

Plus, we’ve seen carmakers give special love to video game cars like the BMW M3 GTR.

However, making a spaceship is a first, but we aren’t complaining.
