The Rolls-Royce Spectre is the ultimate chauffeur’s vehicle, but as it turns out, it’s also pretty handy on the race track.
A video by the Goodwood Festival of Speed shows the electric Rolls-Royce taking on the British venue’s iconic hill climb at breathtaking speed.
The Spectre is the first all-electric Rolls to enter production, marking a new era for the company.
It also shows us that electric cars can be just as fast and luxurious as their gasoline-powered counterparts.

The Spectre flies up the Goodwood hill climb
The video shows the luxury EV going up the hill at full power during the festival’s timed shootout.
Joseph Hopkins – a precision driver for TV and film productions – was the man behind the wheel.
With the silence of its electric motors, you could hear the tires squeal as the car roared around the corners.
For a big and heavy car, the Spectre got through the corners remarkably well.
The acceleration was one of the most impressive parts as the Spectre simply fired out of the corners.
In the video, you could hear how impressed the commentators were at the performance of the EV.
Ultimately, the Rolls-Royce was able to climb the hill in just 57.02 seconds.
The electric Rolls-Royce was as fast as a Ferrari
To put its performance into context, the EV climbed the hill just 0.01 seconds slower than the Ferrari Roma.
That summed up just how impressive and quick the Spectre was.
Powering the Spectre is a dual-motor electric powertrain, with the EV capable of producing up to 577hp and 664lb-ft of torque.
The Black Badge version adds even more grunt, with that version making 650hp and 793lb-ft of torque.
Our very own Alex Hirschi, AKA Supercar Blondie, had her own custom Spectre made in 2024, with some cool bespoke touches.
Those included the classic Black shade, 23-inch wheel rims, and a custom interior.
Alex opted for a gorgeous gray and white interior with turquoise accents for that extra special touch.
Rolls-Royce is one of several manufacturers integrating EVs into its lineup.
An electric-powered luxury vehicle might not be to everyone’s tastes.
However, as the Goodwood video showed, they are certainly no slouches.
