A YouTuber turned a school bus into a convertible, which looks exactly as wild – and weird – as you’d think.

We still haven’t decided whether it’s coolest thing in the world or not.

But the only thing that’s for sure is that it certainly looks…different.

A YouTuber who goes by Lazy Eye Ranch converted this bus into an open-air convertible with the help of some friends.

It certainly looks interesting, as long as he’s ready to answer all kinds of questions and get all kinds of looks at every light and every time he parks.

How do you turn a school bus into a convertible?

In order to complete this creation, he started by basically chopping off three quarters of the school bus.

After that, he got rid of all the seats at the back.

It sounds simple enough, but it is easier said done, no doubt about that.

Structural integrity is the first and main issue with this build.

With a convertible, the lower section of the chassis and the bodywork needs reinforcing and strengthening.

If not done properly, the vehicle can fall apart, sometimes literally, quite quickly.

Mind you, this vehicle was created for a bit fun and, let’s be honest, for YouTube views, so it’s not like the owner is going to drive it every day now.

School buses are endlessly customized

A lot of DIY fans and YouTubers use school buses for their projects for two main reasons.

One, they’re actually easier to work on than most other vehicles and two, they can be bought for cheap from scrapyards.

Several people use school buses as RVs, just like the American couple that bought one, converted it into a cool motorhome and spent years traveling across all 50 states.

Some people use school buses as a platform to build apocalypse-themed vehicles on, and then there’s the case of Brooke and Kade Bandit.

Brooke and Kade bought a school bus and turned into an abode that looks like it came straight out of a Sergio Leone’s Spaghetti Western movie.

Amazing.
