Space Perspective is one step closer to taking you into space in a giant balloon.

The company just announced its Marine Spaceport will be up and running for test flights as early as next year.

Then by 2024, it wants to start sending everyday people like you and me into the stratosphere.

So how does it work?

An enormous balloon called Spaceship Neptune will be launched from the Marine Spaceport into the stratosphere – traveling at 12 mph.

After three hours of travel, the spaceport will reach its maximum height of 100,000 feet, above 99 percent of Earth’s atmosphere.

It will be tethered to a giant balloon the entire flight from liftoff to splashdown.

When it’s time to come back down to Earth, the pressurized capsule will land safely and gently on the water.

Boats will then arrive to stabilize the capsule and lift it onto the Marine Spaceport with a custom-built A-frame.

What is the Marine Spaceport?

The Marine Spaceport – named the MS Voyager – is essentially a massive ship from which the capsule (Spaceship Neptune) will be launched.

The company plans to convert a whole fleet of ships into spaceports and dock them in various ports across the world.

Because the spaceports will be massive ships, they can be navigated across the seas.

So, regardless of the time of year or weather, your space launch will go ahead.

Chaque billet coûte 125 000 dollars et plus de 600 places ont déjà été achetées.

Space Perspective Founder and Co-CEO Jane Poynter said the voyages would give people a once-in-a-lifetime chance to go to space.

“Space Perspective will change your relationship with our planet by providing the quintessential astronaut experience of viewing Earth from the blackness of space,” she said.

“Removing geographic borders for launch and landing accelerates our mission of making this transformative experience more accessible to the world and international marketplace – safely, reliably and with minimal impact on our planet.”

Poynter said the launches would enable people to see Earth’s greatest wonders in a whole new way.

“We always imagined offering the opportunity to view the most incredible natural phenomena from space, including the Northern Lights, the boot of Italy, the sheer scale of the Nile Delta, and the deep blue seas around the Bahamas,” she said.

“Marine Spaceports like MS Voyager make this a reality.”

Space Perspective says analysts predict the commercial space travel industry to reach over $8 billion by 2030.

And the best part is you’ll be enjoying a wonderful view of Earth down below from the comfort of a beautiful cabin.

The apsule has 1.5-metre high windows and deep comfy-looking seats with dark, purple tones and dim lighting.

This was designed to accentuate the feeling that you are floating in space.

Of course, there will be Wi-Fi connectivity and drinks at the hotel’s very own “Space Lounge” inside the Neptune capsule.

We can’t wait.
