‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin makes a bold career change from wrestling to motorsports, specifically side-by-side off-road racing.
After retiring from wrestling, Austin seems to have shifted his focus to motorsports.
He has had a long-standing passion for racing, which fueled his motivations for this career change.

‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin heel-turns into off-road racing
‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin recently appeared in a funny Super Bowl commercial for Kawasaki wearing a mullet.
However, it wasn’t just a paycheck – it also tied into Austin’s passion for off-road racing.
This pivot to this late-in-life racing career developed when a crew member invited him out for a ‘poker run.’
Although he was a NASCAR fan back in the day, Austin discovered his next passion while driving an off-road car out in the desert.
After that, he also started driving his own Kawasaki KRX4 near his home.
Austin’s successful racing career
In 2023, ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin ran five races in his GFI Racing KRX.
The off-road car wore race number 316 —an homage to his wrestling days.
He finally got his first win in a 350-mile course at the Gold Rush from Virginia City to Tonopah.
Even the fearless ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin admitted to feeling a bit of nervousness in his first few races.
However, Austin believes that putting in the extra work and doing a few training rides every week helped him ramp up his skills.
When asked about his Super Bowl ad and the fake mullet, ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin gave a very positive response.
“I used to have a long head of blonde hair. It was beautiful. And yes, I rocked a mullet, too.” he said in an interview.
“It was a lot of fun to film that commercial,” he added.
Although we have seen many Hollywood celebrities drive amazingly fast cars, not many of them have competed and won races.
“It is never too late and better late than never. I’ve been around for a long time, but I wish I would’ve found the sport of racing sooner than I did,” he said
