The Tata Curvv has set an interesting new world record after it managed to tow a Boeing 737 weighing a staggering 48,000kg (48 tons).
Tata Motors first unveiled the Curvv as a concept vehicle back in 2022.
It entered production last year and was introduced to the Indian market in August.
Now, the Curvv is the proud owner of a brand new world record thanks to its pulling power.

The Tata Curvv tackled the challenge with ease
When it comes to cars smashing world records, you’re most likely to think about the fastest vehicles or which has racked up the most miles.
But the Tata Curvv now has a slightly more unusual record to its name: Passenger Plane Pulled By A Petrol SUV For The Largest Distance. It’s a bit of a mouthful, isn’t it?

The impressive stunt was carried out at the AIESL Hangar in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
In an epic display of just how powerful the Curvv really is, Tata Motors had it hooked up to an Air India Boeing 737 – weighing 48,000kg – and had it towed along the runway.
After managing a slow and steady start, the Curvv appeared to tackle the task with ease and was able to haul the plane 100 meters before coming to a stop and claiming the record.
In a clip shared online by Tata Motors, the team can be seen being handed a copy of their shiny new record title alongside a medal.
Exactly how powerful is the Curvv?
The Tata Curvv is available in three powertrain options: petrol, diesel, and battery electric.

The one you can see in the clip above is the 1.2 liter turbocharged petrol engine that can produce 123 horsepower and 225 Nm of torque.
There’s also a slightly less powerful 118 horsepower 1.2 liter petrol engine and a 1.5 liter turbo-diesel option.
The electric Curvv – or the Curvv EV as it’s known – has two battery pack options: a 148 horsepower version and a slightly more powerful 165 horsepower one.
Oh, and, of course, the Curvv is also able to tow a Boeing 737 – should you ever need to do that.
