A YouTuber has owned his for six years and has racked up over 144,000 miles on the clock.
He revealed how much he’s spent, how much he’s saved, and why he has no plans to trade it in.

YouTuber Andy Slye is another content creator helping buyers make informed choices.
There’s also the man who bought a Model X in 2017 and shared what its battery is capable of seven years later.
Oh, there’s also the person who gave insights into how a Model Y runs after four years of use.
Slye bought his Tesla Model 3 six years ago and revealed the pros and cons of spending what was a pretty significant amount for him on an EV back then.
He’s driven it for 144,000 miles, which is around the amount that the average person drives over ten years.
First, he stated how much he’d spent on the EV in total, on top of the $54,000 the car itself cost.
He added tinted windows, which kept the car cooler and helped keep energy costs down.
Tesla has covered several free services, such as a broken door handle, LTE signal issues, and a faulty GPS.
The biggest costs he’s incurred were two sets of new tires and getting the front control arms replaced, which is unfortunately inevitable with this model.
The mind-boggling savings on gas
After listing all his expenses, Slye got down to what’s really exciting about his Model 3 – the savings.
He calculated how much he’s spent on electricity for charging in total, and it’s a relatively modest $2,772 over 144,000 miles.
His total ownership costs have amounted to $75,175 so far.
Given the car’s mileage is equivalent to that of a 10-year-old car, this translates to an average of $7,517 per year.
Slye compared it to a gas car with similar specs and figured he had saved over $20,000 by driving his EV.
Unsurprisingly, he’s staying loyal to his Tesla Model 3 and doesn’t plan on trading it in any time soon.
“I’m going to drive it until the wheels fall off,” he said.
