Audemars Piguet just released a new Royal Off-Shore inspired by an iconic watch worn on screen by Arnold Schwarzenegger.
It’s a chunky chronograph, coming in at 43 mm, and it’s also quite rare.
AP says only 500 pieces will be available.

The watch is a tribute to a similar blacked-out Royal Oak Offshore model (pictured below) that Schwarzenegger co-designed for the 1999 action movie End of Days.
In the film, Arnold Schwarzenegger stars as Jericho Cane, a former NYPD officer on a mission to protect a girl from a Satanic sect.
The movie further showcased the versatility of AP and paved the way for celebrity-endorsed timepieces.

The upgraded watch is a modern take on the old one, and it retains most of the elements from the original.
The case is painted black, adorned with contrasting silver-colored screws.
On the dial, you’ll find the same AP motif with a three-dimensional effect and yellow hands.
Mind you, the original watch had numbers around the dial whereas this one uses hour markers.

Production is limited to 500 pieces and the price is only available upon request.
Mind you, we’ve had a look at some forums for APcollectors and based on the info we found, the watch should be priced at around $60,000.
This would actually make it cheaper than the original one: an example in good condition sold for $94,500 at auction last year.
