This Utah man bought himself one of the rarest vehicles in the world – the ‘Boaterhome’.

YouTuber HeavyDSparks branded it the ‘greatest purchase’ of his career.

With a name like Boaterhome, we’re all anticipating something big.

Well, it’s certainly big – it’s also jaw droppingly weird and amazing.

Taking a closer look at the Boaterhome

As the name suggests, the Boaterhome is the amalgamation of a motorhome and a boat.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen such a creative mash-up before.

Earlier this year, we saw a bizarre flying car-jet pack hybrid take flight in Tokyo.

That’s without forgetting the Nissan compact truck that took inspiration from a helicopter.

But the Boaterhome surely stands head and shoulders above the rest in terms of unique design.

The boat portion of the vehicle can be detached when it comes time to take to the water.

This is handy as it eliminates the need to learn how to maneuver a trailer that needs reversing down the ramp.

Made by Sport King, 20 Boaterhomes were made originally built on a Ford chassis with an eight-foot wide boat in the rear.

This particular vehicle, found by HeavyDSparks just outside of the Utah capital of Salt Lake City, is built on a Dodge RAM chassis and has a 10 foot wide boat instead.

That makes it one-of-a-kind – rarer than rare.

As far as HeavyDSparks can tell, only three of them are still in existence, with the remaining 17 yet to be rediscovered.

What sort of condition was this vehicle in?

Upon closer inspection, it’s clear that the inside has been to subjected to some water damage.

This means that repairs could quickly get pricey.

As HeavyDSparks summarized: “A project like this could snowball really quickly.

“You’ve got all the most expensive things all in one bundle. RVs? Notorious moneypits.

“Boats? Even worse. Trailer – yep.

“All the most expensive things combined into one, but obviously it’s super cool.”

Closer inspections found that it would indeed need a lot of work before being ready to run again.

HeavyDSparks said: “I’m pretty sure this motor’s toast, steering is toast.

“This van needs a lot of work.”

Come on, surely it’s worth it though if it can be restored to its former glory?

Who wouldn’t want one of these?
