Genesis has sparked excitement at the 2024 New York Auto Show after unveiling its new performance sub-brand, Magma.

This marked a thrilling chapter for Genesis, as the brand introduced a line-up of cutting-edge concept cars, including the Genesis G80 Magma Special, GV60 Magma Concept, X Gran Berlinetta Concept, and GV80 Coupe Concept.

Among these futuristic marvels, the X Gran Berlinetta Concept stood out as a beacon of innovation, resembling a futuristic race car with a sleek design and powerful performance.

Powered by a front mid-mounted Lambda 11 V6 engine and electrically assisted by E-SC technology, the X Gran Berlinetta Concept boasts an impressive 1071hp and 986 lb-ft of torque.

Meanwhile, the GV80 Coupe Concept car – a robust SUV – features a formidable maximum power of 304PS (PferdStarke) at 5,800rpm and a torque of 43.0 kgf·m (kilogram-force meters) at 1,650-4,000 rpm.

The GV60 Magma Concept – a highlight of the Magma line-up – promises a thrilling driving experience with enhanced performance and luxurious features.

With details like an improved battery, tweaked motors, wider track, and redesigned front fascia for optimal cooling, the GV60 Magma Concept is poised to deliver exhilarating performance on the road.

Genesis Chief Creative Officer Luc Donckerwolke expressed the brand’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of performance and luxury with the Magma brand.

He said that the new Magma brand would ‘look beyond’ just the speed and performance of their cars, aiming instead to ‘prioritizing the driving experience to kindle the joy of sporty driving’.
