GTA VI trailer has already shattered YouTube record set by MrBeast

The official GTA VI trailer may have dropped less than 24 hours ago, but it’s already smashed a YouTube world record previously held by MrBeast.

In August, MrBeast shared that his video ‘7 Days Stranded at Sea’ had broken the world record for most views in 24 hours for a non-music video, after it was viewed 46 million times in less than a day.

Well, that record’s been broken, as the GTA VI trailer has already surpassed it, racking up 62.7 million views at the time of writing.

There’s no sign it’s going to stop any time soon either with so many fine details to unpick.

Whether it can break the all-time record for most views in 24 hours is a different question, though.

Apparently, that record’s held by BTS for the music video for their song Butter, which was viewed 108 million times in one day and reached 30 million views in 2 hours 20 minutes.

As for GTA VI – the game’s reportedly been in development for years.

Last month, though, the game’s producers, Rockstar Games, confirmed the first trailer for the highly-anticipated game would be arriving in early December to mark the company’s 25 anniversary.

Since then, the internet has been awash with leaks, including GTA VI footage leaked by a Rockstar director’s son on TikTok in the past few days.

The official trailer was meant to be released today, however, because of the latest leak, Rockstar was forced to unveil it earlier than planned.

Although the official trailer posted on YouTube doesn’t feature any gameplay, we do get to see some stunning shots of Vice City and some pretty impressive-looking graphics.

As predicted, the game will feature a Bonnie and Clyde-style couple as the two main protagonists.

The trailer also gifts us another little treat: the game’s release date.

Unfortunately, we won’t be getting our hands on the game until 2025, but judging by trailer it’ll be worth the wait.
