Jeep and Volkswagen go head-to-head in tug-of-war and there’s one clear winner

The fastest car is decided by having a drag race, but when it comes to 4x4s there's only one way to declare a winner – a good ol' tug-of-war.

Jeep Wrangler v Volkswagen Toureg in a tug-of-war

Most people think the way to declare the winner of two cars is by having a drag race.

When it comes to 4x4s, though, nothing quite settles a score better than a good ol’ tug-of-war.

And that’s exactly what happened between a Jeep and a Volkswagen.

A video posted to YouTube shows a Wrangler and a Toureg going head-to-head in a real winner-takes-all scenario.

It’s a tough one to call, though, as on one hand you’ve got the iconic Jeep Wrangler.

The hardcore off-roader is more than capable of taking on the toughest of terrain thanks in large to its dynamic 4×4 drivetrain and hardy front and rear axles.

But, on the other hand, you’ve got the Volkswagen Toureg, with its 5.0-liter V10 turbo diesel engine offering some serious pulling power.

So, with both cars parked back-to-back and their tow bars linked, it was time to see once and for all who’s the real champ.

Both 4x4s slowly hit the throttle, but it was evident right from the off who was going to win this one.

The Wrangler’s rear wheels spun but couldn’t gain traction, whereas the Toureg dug its heels in and slowly pulled off without even breaking a sweat.

Before long, the Volkswagen had gained enough momentum to drag the Wrangler along, and it wasn’t playing around.

Despite the Wrangler locking its steering, the Toureg hauled it along before and turning a corner out of the parking lot.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, to add insult to injury, the VW continued along the road with the Wrangler in tow before eventually coming to a stop.

In the end, there’s one clear winner – the Volkswagen Toureg.

Perhaps the guy in the video knew something we didn’t, as he called the winner before they even got going.

We bet he didn’t expect the VW to make such light work of it, though.
