This spectacular gunmetal beauty is based on the BMW R18 but it costs almost twice as much, coming in with an eye-watering price tag just shy of $45,000.
It’s a lot of cash but that’s because this limited-edition motorcycle was basically built from scratch by a tuning company called Zillers Garage.
Zillers Garage replaced every single body panel with an equivalent component made out of carbon fiber and painted in gunmetal grey, with the exception of the wheels and the spokes, which were forged from aluminum.
In addition to that, the company has also fitted a new air suspension system and replaced the factory exhaust system with a lightweight alternative made from titanium.
For the sake of clarity, the new exhaust doesn’t really do anything in terms of performance: it just makes a nice noise and makes the bike look cooler.
Elsewhere, Zillers has given the bike new wishbone arms, new handlebar-mounted mirros, new LEDs headlights and taillights, and a revised digital instrument cluster.
Nothing was done to the engine but even though some might say this is bad news, it’s safe to say that tuning the engine would’ve been unnecessary.
This is because the R18 is powered by a massive (and massively powerful) 1.8-liter two-cylinder engine, putting out 91 hp and 116 lb-ft of torque.
The top speed is 118 mph.
The Zillers R18 will set you back $44,900, while the standard R18 costs $21,945.
It sounds like a lot of money for what is essentially just a cosmetic upgrade but we have to bear in mind that production is limited to 13 units worldwide.
You’re essentially paying for the exclusivity that Zillers Garage provided.
If you buy one, you can rest (and ride) safe in the knowledge that your bike will be unique, and unless you’re extremely unlucky, you’ll never find another identical bike parked next to yours.
