It turns out it’s not just Saudi football clubs that are super wealthy.

The country’s fans aren’t short of money either, and they’re incredibly generous with it, too.

Ex-Liverpool star Fabinho knows only too well how generous they can be.

When Fabinho turned out for his new side Al-Ittihad away at Al-Raed at the weekend, it ended up being a comfortable victory for the visitors, as they kicked off their Saudi Pro League campaign with a 3-0 win.

The 29-year-old was praised for his performance following his time at Liverpool.

One fan was so enamoured by his display he did something remarkable following the match.

As Fabinho was leaving the stadium in his All-Ittihad tracksuit, he was stopped by a fan.

But it wasn’t a picture or even an autograph the man wanted.

Oh no, it was something else.

The man presented Fabinho with a Rolex watch and put it on the player’s wrist.

Clearly stunned by the gesture, the ex-Reds star had a beaming smile on his face.

But, as he went to walk away following the exchange, the newly gifted watch fell off his wrist and onto the ground.

After picking it up and giving it a quick check, the Brazilian thanked the fan and went on his way.

Footage of the bizarre exchange is now circulating on social media and it’s leaving people bewildered.

“That was painfully awkward to watch,” one said.

“This is crazy man,” another said, while a third called it “embarrassing”.

Fabinho joined the reigning Saudi Pro League champions from Liverpool in a deal worth up to $51.33 million.

The midfielder, who has linked up with the likes of Kante, Karim Benzema, Jota and Ahmed Hegazi, is set to earn a staggering $539,000 per week until 2026.
