Billionaire WhatsApp founder Jan Koum has taken delivery of his brand-new $330 million Moonrise superyacht that measures a whopping 331 feet.

Koum co-founded the messaging app in 2009.

Five years later, it was acquired by Facebook for a staggering $19.3 billion.

Today, Koum has an estimated net worth of $16.8 billion and recently used some of his wealth to commission a stunning superyacht.

The WhatsApp founder has splashed out on a luxe superyacht

The billionaire WhatsApp founder has recently taken delivery of his new superyacht, dubbed Moonrise.

The yacht was built by Feadship, the same company that built Bill Gates’ yacht and Mark Zuckerberg’s $300 million megayacht.

Moonrise has not long finished sea trials out in the North Sea and has been signed off and handed over to Koum.

The super-sized yacht is longer than an NFL football field, measuring in at 331 feet in length.

Its exterior has been finished in a bright white and metallic grey color scheme, while its interiors were designed by Rémi Tessier.

Details of the superyacht’s interiors haven’t been shared, but we know that it includes a private owner’s deck and a cinema on the bridge deck.

It also boasts a huge sundeck which comes with a gym, massage area, and its own hairdressing salon.

There are also exterior decks and a swim platform.

Tucked away inside behind shell doors, you’ll find a side-loading tender garage. And it’s filled with various water toys and crafts.

Moonrise has also been fitted with integrated Starlink receivers to give it a stable internet connection without the need for satellite domes.

Feadship said special attention was paid to reducing both underwater noise and interior sound levels ‘for an exceptional onboard experience’.

But all that luxury comes at a cost. It’s been estimated that it will take an additional $30 million per year to keep Moonrise running.

It’s not the first yacht Jan Koum has bought

WhatsApp founder Jan Koum has built up an impressive fleet of yachts.

Alongside the newly acquired Moonrise, he also owns a $75 million superyacht called Mogambo, a 239-foot yacht.

He also owns a support vessel dubbed Nebula that he uses to carry tenders, equipment, and additional crew.
