There’s no shortage of cool LEGO car sets you can buy.

The Danish toymaker’s latest release is up there with the coolest, though.

Feast your eyes on the LEGO Technic PEUGEOT 9X8 24H Le Mans Hybrid Hypercar.

The name’s a bit of a mouthful, so we’ll stick to calling it the LEGO Technic PEUGEOT 9X8.

In a nutshell, it’s a 1:10 scale replica of the hybrid hypercar that’s making its debut at the 100th running of the fabled 24-hour race in June.

The model racing car incorporates various features from the PEUGEOT 9X8, including the hybrid system, with a V6 piston engine.

The engine connects to the rear wheels and a model version of the electric motor and its connected battery.

It’s also got suspension and steering, the latter operates using the steering wheel or the gear wheel on top of the car.

The LEGO Technic PEUGEOT 9X8 also comes with glow-in-the-dark light elements that capture the race atmosphere.

Not only that, but the LEGO Technic kit comes with livery graphics and PEUGEOT and sponsor logos, so you can add the finishing touches to the model.

The kit, which consists of 1,775 pieces, measures over 13cm high, 50cm long, and 22cm wide.

It’s not exactly small, and potentially a trip hazard, too?

That being said, buyers are likely to be grown adults, as LEGO recommends the model set is for those aged 18+.

Therefore, it’s more than likely the LEGO Technic PEUGEOT 9X8 will live on a shelf after being built rather than on the living room floor.

LEGO Technic PEUGEOT 9X8 price

The LEGO Technic PEUGEOT 9X8 will be available in the toymaker’s stores and online from May 1, retailing at $199.99.

That’s just enough time to get your hands on one to build before the Le Mans 24-hours race the following month.
