Ford Bronco out there - and it's a beast

If you’re familiar with the Ford Bronco, then you know it’s a beast of a car and one heck of a fun off-roader.

But to no one’s surprise, there’s now a bigger, badder and beastlier version out there aptly called the ‘Dark Horse’.

Created by Apocalypse Manufacturing (the name tells you everything really) it has two additional wheels, adding 0.91 metres to the car in length.

And to acccommodate the extra wheels, an extra axle is added beneath the car – and that’s just the beginning.

What Else Has Changed?

While the original twin-turbo V6 still lies beneath the bonnet, there are some modifications here too.

Apocalypse added an exhaust that gives the car more of a boost. And it manages to do this without compromising the engine in the process.

The creators also added some larger injectors and a tune.

With the upgrades, the V6 now produces 400 horsepower, instead of the standard 330 on a normal Bronco.

More modifications include 20-inch SFJ wheels, 37-inch Patagonia tires, a 4-inch lift kit, steel side steps, and a steel front bumper that’s been coated in Kevlar. Naturally.

Inside the Dark Horse, you’ll find a King Ranch-esque trim detailing.

This includes dark brown leather on both the seats and the doors.

Apocalypse Manufacturing, Joseph Ghattas said the Dark Horse “came out better than we could ever have dreamt”.

“All the in house upgrades give it a style all its own while still keeping a huge chunk of its Bronco identity,” he said.

He also hinted at future builds, saying “customers could expect to see a 700+ horsepower supercharged V8 Coyote 5.0L motor upgrade, as well as a Kevlar coated exterior paint job”.
