It feels like yesterday, but it’s already been months since the iPhone 15 was unveiled.

This means Apple is obviously already at work to develop the iPhone 16.

And rumor has it the Cupertino giant is testing a game-changing feature for the camera.

Apple unveils a new iPhone every year, usually in September, usually alongside other new products such as new iPads or Apple Watches.

Last year’s event, dubbed ‘Wonderlust‘, unveiled the new iPhone 15, whose camera was so good Apple actually used it to film another event, this one reserved for MacBook upgrades, dubbed ‘Scary Fast‘.

Pun-riddled event titles aside, Apple’s new iPhone 16 is rumored to be a game-changer due to a unique camera feature.

For the longest time, users were convinced that the number of mega-pixels was the only way to determine how good a camera was.

Largely due to the fact that manufacturers regularly pump up that number to boost sales.

In recent years, it has become more accepted, or at least well-known, that good software matters more than the number of MP.

That’s why Apple is working on a new one that also includes periscope telephoto lenses.

And that’s not all.

Apple is finally aiming to redesign the camera bump, which is one of the most common criticisms when it comes to the iPhone design.

Further, the new iPhone 16 Pro Max, which Apple is reportedly renaming as iPhone Ultra, could feature a much larger display of around 6.9 inches.

For reference, the iPhone 15 Pro Max has a 6.7-inch display.

September, which is presumably the designed date for the new iPhone 16 unveil, is ‘only’ seven months away.

So we’ll find out soon enough.
