This car-shaped desk clock will set you back the same amount as a new BMW.

In saying that, it’s an epic clock.

For one, it’s beautiful, and two, the ‘V8’ at the front can actually be used to tell time.

It’s made by L’Epée, a Swiss company that’s been making clocks for nearly 200 years.

That tells you that you’re at least getting some bang for your buck.

The clock draws its inspiration from the classic roadsters of the mid-1960s and in keeping with the idea behind it, the movement of the clock is located (more or less) where the engine would be.

So how does it work?

The complex mechanism that powers it is hidden underneath the ‘bodywork’, both inside the cockpit and under the hood between the front wheels.

The three-spoke steering wheel can be used to set the time, which is then displayed through the ‘air filters’ that feed the V8.

Speaking of which, the car also features miniature pistons, and they can be set in motion with a special key that comes in the box.

Quite cool, huh?

The little dome located where the driver’s seat should be represents the helmet of the driver.

More to the point, it houses the ‘escapement’ of the clock, which is a crucial component in any automatic / manual clock or watch.

It is available in five different colors: Blue & White stripes, White & Blue stripes, Silver, Red and Green.

Production is limited to 99 pieces in total.

If you’re lucky enough to get your hands on one of the 99 pieces, be ready to pay $42,500.

That’s a lot for a clock.

The Toyota Corolla, the world’s best-selling car, starts at around $21,000.

And for the same price as this clock you can buy an entry-level BMW 3 Series or an Audi A4.
