This 1961 Chevy Impala found in a Connecticut junkyard could be seen for the last time.

The auto lies exposed to the elements – and it truly does look a little under the weather.

With rust having taken over its insides, it could be the last time it’s ever seen – although it’s actually for sale.

But, after seeing the listing, would you take a chance on the 1961 special?

It’s no secret that Chevrolet makes classic American greats

Chevrolet is one of the iconic American automakers.

The company has been going for decades, and nostalgic footage has previously shown how Chevrolets were made in the 1960s in the United States.

Plus, the company has even dipped its toes into the EV sphere with the Chevrolet Silverado EV’s ground-breaking battery pack. It’s so good people are calling it magic and feeling proud to be American.

This Chevy Impala, though, looks like it has seen better days. And this could be the last time we see it.

It was found abandoned in a junkyard

Now, if you’re an SB regular, you’ll know that cars are abandoned in junkyards and left to the elements literally all the time.

And this Chevy is no exception. As posted on Craigslist, the 1961 Impala looks more than a little worse for wear and appears to be in a junkyard surrounded by other vehicles.

Its filled with rust and would need more than a lick of paint to look sharp once more.

The seller, though, recognizes the condition of the car. In fact, they’re ‘selling whole car for restoration or use for parts’ and they ‘figure it will need everything if restoring.’

The car truly is a piece of history dating back to 1961 and is a bubble-top two-door version of the classic Impala.

But, it’s up for a small price – just a mere $2,500 – which sounds reasonable, and there’s even some ‘extra trim and parts included’.

Until maybe you think of the amount of restoration needed.

The Chevy Impala is certainly a relic

We just hate to see classics like this going to rust and ruin.

It is, after all, a piece of Chevy’s past – the Impala was first introduced way back in 1958, with a V8 engine.

The Impala’s features were instantly recognizable, with chrome accents and curves dominating the roads; it set the bar for American car makers.

What do you think about this Impala, though? Would you spend $2,500 on a rusty auto?
