A hardcore gearhead and YouTuber showed his flooded McLaren P1 to a fellow YouTuber and car guy.
The conversation was amusing to listen to and funny to behold.
This is because this McLaren was incredibly expensive to buy, despite being obviously in terrible shape and possibly beyond saving.
Yet, these two YouTubers sort of ended up fighting one another to get it.

YouTuber Tavarish, real name Freddy Hernandez, had an interesting conversations with Ed Bolian from VinWiki on his backup YouTube channel.
These two guys have a few things in common.
They’re both YouTubers, and they’re both, and we’re quoting their words here, ‘dumb’ enough to spend a fortune to buy a doomed car.
Because that’s the thing with this McLaren P1.
It’s potentially worth a lot of cash, anywhere between $1.5 million and $2 million in today’s market, but there’s no point buying a P1 that won’t work.
The irony of flooded cars, and the new owner of a 911 that was crashed into a lake knows this all too well, is that they look okay, but they aren’t.
They look undamaged but, all things being equal, bringing a totaled car back to life is probably easier than bringing back a flooded one back to life.
The story behind this McLaren
The owner of the McLaren P1 damaged by Hurricane Ian in Florida spent around $1.3 million on his car.
After the fateful event, he sold it at auction for $575,000 which, for a car that’s potentially unsalvageable, isn’t too bad.
The YouTuber pledged to restore the car, but it’s not easy.
He’s making progress, but it’s probably going to take a few more months – and dollars.
