Michael Jackson’s Rolls-Royce limo interior looked like the Palace of Versailles

  • Michael Jackson was known for his extravagant taste
  • The interior of his Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph is no exception to this

Michael Jackson may have passed away fifteen years ago, but his legacy lives on.

Of course, people are familiar with his great musical talent.

They may even remember a few – let’s say – other things about him, too.

Less well-known is his eclectic collection of cars.

Inside Michael Jackson’s limousine

The King of Pop’s fleet of limos went up for auction in February 2009 – just months before he died of cardiac arrest in June.

In mid-April, the auction was called off, but fans still got a glimpse inside the cars that drove him around.

Jackson was the owner of at least four limousines, with one being just a little bit fancier than the rest.

It was a 1999 Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph with an interior fit for royalty.

The website Jalopnik described it as such: “The dark blue Seraph wears an interior which looks to have been pulled directly from the Palace of Versailles.”

If you know Jackson’s taste, he know he had a tendency towards the opulent.

When an interviewer likened his shopping habits to the French king Louis XIII, the pop star replied: “That’s my taste.”

So it’s no surprise that he personally designed the interior of the limo, which makes generous use of 24-carat gold.

The vehicle’s 5.4 liter V12 aluminum engine could generate up to 322 horsepower.

No need for moonwalking with cars like these

Also in Jackson’s collection is a 1990 Rolls-Royce Silver Spur II, kitted out with white leather and a full-service bar.

His 1988 Lincoln Town Car is comparably subtle, with gray leather seating.

From here, the vehicles in his possession get more and more random.

There’s a 1954 Cadillac Fleetwood used in the 1989 film Driving Miss Daisy, an electrified horse-and-carriage, and a 2001 Harley Davidson touring police bike.

Some have their own special touch of MJ – a 1997 Neoplan Tour Bus with a king’s crown embroidered on the carpet, for example.

It was likely used on the HIStory World Tour, which took place between 1996 and 1997, to promote one of his last albums.

If you could judge a man by the cars he owned, you’d walk away from Jackson’s with one conclusion – he knew how to make a statement.
