This millionaire bought two Rolls-Royce Spectre cars just so he could be the first person in the US to own one.

Michael Fux, also known as the Mattress King, is a Florida-based millionaire with a big love of cars.

In addition to his two Rolls-Royce Spectres, he already owns fifteen Rolls-Royces.

How much it cost to be the first American Spectre owner

The Spectre is Rolls-Royce’s first-ever production EV, and it’s the first to be delivered in the US.

It was the must-have car earlier this year, with Alex Hirschi – aka Supercar Blondie herself – picking one up.

Naturally, Fux wanted to have it in his collection.

His fifteen Rolls-Royces were part of a 150-strong haul, but the Spectre was only the third EV to join the ranks.

Speaking to Motor1, the Cuban-born businessman said: “So now I have three electric cars: I have this one, the Hummer, and I have a Tesla Plaid.”

He introduced his new ride to the world as anyone would in 2024 – but posting it on Instagram.

A closer look at the Mattress King’s new car

Fux’s Spectre has a stunning exterior, with a shade of Tempest Grey to contrast with the white leather interior.

Most of us could appreciate this color scheme, but the Mattress King is known for his bright taste.

Case in point, he wore a t-shirt covered in yellow emojis while showing off the cars to his followers.

But there’s a reason he opted for the Spectre even though its color isn’t overly exciting.

He just wanted to be the first in the US to have one, regardless of the color.

Later this year, he will receive a customized version of the car – and here are just some of the optional extras he has to choose from.

In the caption for his Instagram video, Fux teased: “My personal custom spec is coming next year and it will be outrageous. Details coming soon.”

One needs to only glance at the rest of his Instagram to see that his love of vibrant colors is pronounced, as his cars are decked out in a whole host of shades.

He’s not the first car collector to embrace color – Reuben Singh started a trend by matching his Rolls-Royces to his turbans.

Fux has come a long way from his humble beginnings.

Born in 1958, he wouldn’t arrive in the US until 1973 when his family moved.

He started selling used tires and recharging car batteries before making it big in the foam bedding industry.

From there, he became known as The Mattress King and accumulated a net worth of around $400 million.

Another Florida businessman has a collection that dwarves his, however, with an astonishing 442 luxury vehicles under his belt.
