A Tesla owner who bought an EV for the first time recounted her first experience charging the EV.
TikTok user Em Lucin, AKA @emlucin, uploaded a video showing her trying EV recharging for the first time.
It took her a little time to understand the equipment, but she replied to those who said it looked complicated by praising how easy it was.
The video displays her honest reaction to the experience, which many other consumers will also be dealing with.

Lucin found the Tesla recharging process quite simple
There were a few minor niggles to begin with before Em commenced charging the EV.
To start, it took her a little time to figure out how to operate the charger and plug it in.
The TikTok video also showed her setting up the charger to make sure it was actually charging her Tesla.
At one point, she was fumbling around with the charge socket, as the TikToker was unsure if it was actually connected to the car properly.

While some might wonder why she had difficulties getting things going, the reality is quite different from refueling a gasoline-powered car.
With a gas car, you simply plug in the nozzle, and away you go.
EV charging requires a bit more effort, like setting up a payment and checking that everything is connected correctly.
Some were surprised she struggled so much
Some of the users on TikTok were surprised at how much she ended up struggling with the charging.
They were also unhappy with the Tesla’s charging time.
Em and her dog waited in the car for it to charge up.
It took 23 minutes to go from 44 percent to 81 percent charged. Whereas refilling a gasoline-powered car takes a fraction of that time.

However, as she’d never recharged a Tesla while out and about before, the criticism was a bit unfair for a first-timer.
Em may well have made a smart move, as it looks like EVs are all set to be the future of transportation.
The TikToker herself said she thinks the benefits of owning an electric car far outweigh any downsides.
For the sake of our planet, EVs are the way forward, so well done Em for giving it a go!
