After being damaged by a hurricane, these experts refused to let this rare 1997 Chevrolet Camaro SS 30th anniversary die.
Unfortunately for cars, Mother Nature often takes her anger out on the fragile, meltable, rusty, and combustible cars.
Often, when the wrath of her disasters strikes, cars are cast away and left to the elements, no matter how nice they are.
But even when the fire, water, and earth start fighting our cars, that doesn’t mean we need to let them be claimed to the auto-underworld, and one expert has taken that on the chin to restore a rare 1997 Chevrolet Camaro SS.

Chevrolet Camaro SS 30th Edition saved from hurricane
America has had its fair share of bad weather recently, and more cars are feeling the blunt force of hurricanes. So much so that car graveyards have formed from vehicles that have been swept away.
However, YouTube team Horsepower Depot decided that this Chevrolet Camaro SS 30th Edition was ‘too nice to let die.’
Upon first inspections, the Camaro appeared to be in quite a good state for the conditions that it was left in
They even had a chief inspector to take care of the car…
But there was obvious water damage.
The flooded interior had filled up over the driver’s seat but hadn’t quite reached the glovebox.
Internally, there were issues too. While the car ran and drove, the differentials were drowning and needed draining. New oil and fuel were added too,
It wouldn’t be the first Camaro to be clawed back from a hurricane’s grip, but that’s only if the team could get it back to its former self.
Ironic cleaning service brings the Camaro back to life
Any Pokemon expert will know that fire beats earth, earth beats water, and water beats fire. But apparently not when cars are involved.
Instead, water beats water.
Just as this car had been drained of its hurricane residue, the simplest form of clean-up came with a good old blasting with a pressure washer.
Everything from the roof and doors to the engine and underneath was soaked again as the cleaning products got to work, searching out any remnants of muck and debris.
Ironically, all this car needed was a bath and to get some water out of its ears.
The car burst into life after a jump start almost as if it had never been underwater before.
Truth be told, this restoration wasn’t quite as heavy as the flooded Porsche that was highlighted recently, but the rare Chevrolet Camaro SS will be able to serve another life again.
