The Chevy Suburban is the only car to have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
- The only car to have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is surprising
- It’s not an Aston Martin or a DeLorean, it’s a Chevy Suburban
- The car is so versatile that it makes a lot of sense when you think about it

If any car had a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame you might think it’s the Back To The Future DeLorean, or even Herbie, the Love Bug, but the only car that has one is the humble Chevy Suburban.
It feels like a weird decision, but actually you’ve probably seen a Chevy Suburban in hundreds of movies and TV shows in your life, so they just blend in.
Their versatility and the fact they act like a blank slate on which to transport a character from one place to the next, makes them the most reliable actors in the history of movies.
The fact that it doesn’t steal the show means that the audience’s attention can fully focus on the characters. But the Hollywood Walk of Fame has finally given the Chevy Suburban its time in the spotlight.

The humble Chevy Suburban and its screentime
Move over James Bond’s Aston Martins and Doc and Marty’s DeLorean – you don’t have the acting chops this car has.
Back in 2019, a car was given the honor of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. And it wasn’t the Ghostbusters‘ Cadillac or a VW Beetle like Herbie, it was the classic Chevy Suburban.
This seems like a bizarre decision because when you think of a famous Hollywood vehicle, this Chevy SUV doesn’t come to mind.
However, this fact might actually be the reason that it got the star.

Is it good enough for a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame?
According to Car and Driver, the Chevy Suburban has been in over 1,750 movies and at least one TV show every year since 1956.
The Chevy Suburban can also be found in at least one film every year since 1960, so it’s truly got some fabulous acting credits.
The car itself is lauded for its versatility. It fits in just as well in a thrilling chase scene involving the Feds as it does being driven by a mom in a rom-com. The Suburban is the everycar and it finally is getting its flowers.
It feels rather nice that the car is finally getting some time in the spotlight as it’s not a scene-stealer like some flashier cars. But it is consistent and reliable.
It’s time for a round of a-horns for Hollywood’s it car.
