Filled with superhero movies and action movies, we want to take you through the best movies to come to the big screen in 2022.
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore
Starring: Eddie Redmayne, Jude Law, Ezra Miller, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Callum Turner, Jessica Williams, Richard Coyle, Katherine Waterston, and Mads Mikkelsen
Opening: April 15, 2022
The Fantastic Beasts series has not been without its drama with the recasting of Johnny Depp’s Grindelwald with Mads Mikkelsen.
All hopes are that the four-year wait has been worth it to see Jude Law’s Dumbledore take on Mikkelsen’s Grindelwald.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
Starring: Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Rachel McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Xochitl Gomez
Opening: May 6, 2022
After popping up in the highly successful Spider-Man: No Way Home, Benedict Cumberbatch returns as Doctor Strange in the anticipated movie sequel.
Rumors are swirling from the number of potential multiverse cameos all the way from Patrick Stewarts Charles Xavier to Tom Cruise showing up as some variant of Tony Stark.
Only time will tell though!
Top Gun: Maverick

Opening: May 27, 2022
The pandemic has not been kind to the long-awaited sequel to Top Gun.
To put it in perspective, the official trailers are two years old.
After more than 30 years, the wait is almost over and we finally get to see what Pete “Maverick” Mitchell has gotten himself into.
Jurassic World Dominion
Starring: Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Laura Dern, Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, Justice Smith, Daniella Pineda, Omar Sy, BD Wong
Opening: June 10, 2022
In Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom, fans were teased by the cameo of Jeff Goldblum’s Ian Malcolm.
In the newest installment to the Jurassic World series, all of the original characters from Jurassic Park are back.
Dr. Sattler, Dr. Grant, and Dr. Malcolm are all back to help the new characters take on the recent dinosaur threat.
Thor: Love and Thunder
Starring: Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff
Opening: July 8, 2022
Thor’s third installment, Thor: Ragnarok, changed Thor to a more comedic tone.
Since then when popping up in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame the character has suffered so much loss and been on the tails of such character growth that fans are wondering just what is in store for the next installment.
The Batman
Starring: Robert Pattinson, Jeffrey Wright, Zoe Kravitz, Paul Dano, John Turturro, Peter Sarsgaard, Andy Serkis, Colin Farrell
Opening: March 4, 2022
After a successful run as Batman, Ben Affleck takes a backseat to Robert Pattinson’s first outing as the caped crusader.
Word is, this will be the darkest take on Batman we have yet to see.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Starring: Ben Schwartz, James Marsden, Jim Carrey, Tika Sumpter, Idris Elba, Colleen O’Shaughnessey
Opening: April 8, 2022
The first Sonic installment shocked all and became an instant hit. An after-credits scene surprised fans by teasing Sonic’s partner in crime Tails.
In Sonic 2, Jim Carrey’s Dr. Robotnik, but this time with someone with the power to rival Sonic – Knuckles, voiced by Idris Elba.
Black Adam
Starring: Dwayne Johnson, Noah Centineo, Aldis Hodge, Sarah Shahi, Quintessa Swindell, Pierce Brosnan
Opening: July 29, 2022
This film might be the best example of being stuck in development limbo.
Dwayne Johnson was attached to the film as early as 2007.
From that time, the film was on hold until 2014 when the DC Extended Universe began heating up. After waiting 15 years, Johnson surely cannot wait to show you his take on the comic book character.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
Starring: Letitia Wright, Danai Gurira, Lupita Nyong’o, Angela Bassett, Winston Duke, Martin Freeman
Opening: November 11, 2022
The world lost one of the greats when Chadwick Boseman passed away in 2020, fans have been wondering just what will happen to the beloved character of Bosman’s King T’Challa.
Marvel announced that T’Challa would not be recast and the spotlight would shift to his in-universe sister Shuri played by Letitia Wright.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom
Starring: Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Temuera Morrison
Opening: December 16, 2022
When Aquaman was released in 2018 it became the most successful film in the DC Extended Universe, passing normal powerhouse names in the likes of Superman and Batman.
Momoa’s Arthur Curry will get another chance to woo audiences when they hit the movie theaters this December.
