Toyota sends out a small token of appreciation to drivers who manage to hit several major milestones in their vehicles.

If there’s one thing any Toyota owner can tell you, it’s that the carmaker produces reliable vehicles.

So much so that it’s not unusual to have one for years and years – all the while clocking up some serious mileage.

Toyota send out special stickers to motorists who hit major milestones

As a way to say ‘thanks’ to owners for remaining loyal to their cars, the company will send out window stickers to those who have managed to send their odometers soaring.

The scheme kicks in after motorists have hit 150,000 miles (241,401km) with a bronze-colored sticker, a silver-colored one is awarded after a driver clocks up 200,000 miles (321,868km), and a gold for 300,000 miles (482,803km).

If you managed to top 500,000 (804,672km) there’s a special green sticker waiting for you.

“Toyota is famed the world over for creating vehicles that embody incredible reliability, exceptional long-lasting quality and amazing durability. That’s why, following requests from Toyota owners in the UK, we created the High Mile Club. It’s a way for people to show off how proud they are of their vehicle,” the company explained

“The Toyota High Mile Club celebrates the models out there that have covered truly epic distances. We’ve produced a limited number of exclusive interior window stickers so owners can celebrate their car’s stunning mileage, and Toyota reliability.”

To get your hands on one of the limited stickers, eligible owners need to share a photo of their car’s odometer, showing the relevant milestone has been hit, on to the Toyota UK Facebook page with the hashtag #HighMileClub.

There are some serious high milage cars out there

While 300,000 or 500,000 may seem like an incredible amount of miles to rack up, it doesn’t come close to some of the highest mileage vehicles out there

The owner of a humble 2003 Honda Accord V-6 managed to hit 1,000,000 miles (1,609,344km) on its original engine.

“The car’s been in the family the entire time. Our girls have grown up with this car,” owner Justin Kilmer told KRISTV. “That’s why reaching a million was pretty emotional for us.”

But even a cool million isn’t enough to break any records.

A man called Irving Gordon holds the Guinness World Record for the highest mileage on a personal car.

His 1966 Volvo 1800S has over 3,000,000 miles (4,828,032km) on its odometer.

That really puts the miles into milestone, doesn’t it?
