The Orient Express Silenseas, the world’s biggest sailing yacht, will set sail in 2026 for its inaugural voyage.

Despite being 721 feet long, it ‘only’ has 54 suites, so you can imagine just how massive each suite can be.

Designed like a hotel but inspired by the famous Orient Express train, the Silenseas is truly majestic.

There’s only one minor catch, and it’s one of those catches that start with the dollar sign.

The world’s biggest sailing yacht is designed like a hotel

The Orient Express Silenseas is operated by Accor, a global hospitality company that owns, among others, Ibis, Mercure, Novotel, Aparthotel and Fairmont.

The famous Fairmont hotel in Monaco where guests can watch the Grand Prix from the balcony, for example, is an Accor hotel.

Clearly, the hotel business is booming because this yacht was incredibly expensive to build.

Mind you, it’ll also be expensive to book.

There’s no ‘price list’ yet, guests can only inquire for now, but rumor has it prices will start at five figures… per night.

It might be worth it, though.

This 771-foot (220m) yacht draws its inspiration from the Orient Express train, and it has two swimming pools, a cabaret lounge, restaurants and bars, a spa, and even a recording studio.

Interestingly, Accor says the yacht will also feature a speakeasy bar, which is intriguing.

For reference, a speakeasy is like a hidden bar you can only access via unmarked doors and/or with a secret password or key.

It’ll be fascinating to see how they’re going to do that on a yacht.

How this compares to the other equivalent yachts

Sailing yachts are far less common than motor yachts, and they tend to be more expensive.

The record for the world’s largest sailing yacht has been beaten many times, and it will no doubt be beaten again in the future.

The Black Pearl (below), which we recently spotted in Montenegro, and the massive yacht simply known as the ‘A’ both held that title in the past.

Then of course there’s Koru, the $500 million superyacht owned by Jeff Bezos.

But even Koru seems small when you compare it to the Orient Express.

For reference, Koru is ‘only’ 417 feet long.
