An American YouTuber who regretted selling his Toyota Supra 10 years ago has bought it back and is blown away by how different the car is.

Lee of ScrapLifeLee sold the car around 10 years ago but soon regretted doing so.

The Supra had been a car of firsts for him, so it made sense he’d want it back.

Fast-forward to 2025, and the Supra has had many modifications and is a wildly different car from the one he had before.

What happened to the Supra in the meantime

After selling the Supra, Lee’s former car underwent some radical changes.

The original 3.0-liter inline-six engine was replaced by a 3.4-liter powertrain.

In addition to that new turbocharging and other changes, the Supra now produces 1,500HP.

It’s gone from being a street car to a true race car.

Despite the extra power, Lee has plans to tune it down a little bit.

The YouTuber wants to turn it into a street car again, closer to how it was when he sold it 10 years ago.

That includes more than just taking power out of it.

The windows don’t roll down, for example, and the doors open via a button on the side window.

That’s something else Lee wants to change.

Factory components will go back in the Toyota

The de-tuning of the car will also include Lee fitting factory parts back onto it.

The factory clutch, for example, will go into the Supra.

The YouTuber is even tempted to put the factory fuel tank back into the car as well.

Lee is also going to have to do some repairs to the Toyota, which was well and truly modified while it wasn’t in his ownership.

And as if that wasn’t enough, a tubular rear subframe will be also fixed after the Supra took some damage.

A 2JZ engine will then go under the hood in place of the monster 1,500HP engine it currently has.

The YouTuber wants to make the car one you can drive on the street once again while also enhancing it over what it was 10 years ago.

Should he do that, then it will be a truly sweet reunion between Lee and his old car.
