It’s set to include a smart city, a mountain resort, and a water and hydrogen company.

The entire Neom project is estimated to cost $1 trillion – making it both expensive and ambitious.

‘The Line’, Saudi Arabia will be a futuristic city and home to nine million residents.

The Line will be 170km long and 500m high, with a footprint of just 34 sq km.

Without roads and cars, residents will have access toadaily essentials within a five-minute walk.

A high-speed rail service will also take people from one end to the other within 20 minutes.

These stunning images of the development in its current state were shared by chief operating officer, Giles Pendleton on LinkedIn.

As well as excavation photos of ‘The Line’, Saudi Arabia, Pendleton also showed off the latest aerial photos of Sindalah and Oxagon.

And their development seems to be ticking along nicely too.

His post read: “How to answer the naysayers about the incredible work being done in NEOM ? Show a cross section of the world’s largest building site from the mountains to the sea .

“Massive excavations on the Line, The future of island resorts on Sindalah and the next generation of ports and logistics at Oxagon.”

There will be 10 regions in total as part of Saudi Arabia’s giga-project.

Plans are for Oxagon to be built on the coast of the Red Sea neat the town of Duba.

It will be a fully sustainable, zero-carbon city and will include the world’s first integrated port and supply chain ecosystem.

Oxagon is planned as a floating port city to connect ships travelling through the Suez Canal.

The dinstinctive octagonal port will be partly on land with a large floating structure protruding into the sea.

As well as port facilities, the development will contain a cruise terminal and oceanographic research center.

It has already attracted prominent corporate tenants and is expected to generate around 90,000 jobs by 2030.

Meanwhile, island destination, Sindalah, will welcome its first guests this year.

The first of Neom’s 10 regions, Sindalah is a luxury island-cluster resort that’s under construction in the Red Sea.

It will span over 840,000 square metres.

The resort will contain three large hotels with 413 rooms and 88 villas.

It will also feature 333 apartments arranged around a marina with 86 piers, several golf courses, three high-end resorts, a yacht club, and more than 50 luxury brands.
