Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, had a surprising response to a fan’s design for a $25K compact EV.
Posted to X on 25 December, Tesla influencer, Teslaconomics, showcased a picture of his idea for a new car.
The caption read: “A $25,000 Tesla compact vehicle will put the nail in the coffin of legacy automakers.”

Unsurprisingly, Musk wasn’t too bogged down by Christmas merriment to have his OOO on.
He replied with a comment on the design for the rumored sub-$30,000 EV on the same day.
While he didn’t exactly wax lyrical, his response was short, simple and pretty positive.
“Good design,” he said.
The short interaction has sparked excitement among Tesla enthusiasts.
They firmly agree that a sleek and affordable car from Tesla would have huge demand.
Tesla’s stock has not seen significant growth since the first half of 2023 – even after the launch of the Cybertruck in December and celebrity fans showcasing their new ride.
Despite this, Elon Musk ended 2023 richer than he was in 2022.
The brand is said to be looking for a new, affordable and stylish product to drive it higher.

Chinese competitors of Tesla have been successful in the domestic market with cheaper models and sales volume.
While Tesla sold a whopping 450,000+ cars in the last quarter of 2023 alone, Chinese company, BYD (Build Your Dreams), still outsold Tesla.
In 2023, BYD sold around 3 million vehicles, while Tesla ‘only’ sold 1.8 million.
These numbers are incredible, considering the EV market is still not fully developed worldwide.
China is at the forefront of EV adoption, so much so that there are streets that literally sound different since there’s no more exhaust noise.

From researching the most ‘Google-able’ key terms to producing evergreen content - it’s been a time of hard work, growth, and success for the editorial team and the Supercar Blondie website. “I like to think of myself as a ‘method journalist’. In other words: I live and breathe whatever I am writing about. When writing about fitness, I trained as a personal trainer, and as a beauty editor, I completed an ‘expert’ in scent diploma with the Fragrance Foundation. “During my tenure at Supercar Blondie, however, I did something I never thought possible: I passed my driving test at the age of 36. One day I’d love to train as a mechanic to better understand what happens under the hood, too. “My sweet spot is providing readers with a ‘takeaway’ (read: something new they didn’t know before) after reading every one of my stories. While I don’t claim to be an expert in the automotive world, I know the experts and bodies in the field to rely on to provide our readers with an informative and thought-provoking story every time they visit the site.”
