Maserati is gearing up to unveil its latest supercar at The Quail, a motorsports gathering in California – and it’s based on the iconic MC20.
The event is on 16 August during Monterey Car Week and will see Maserati reveal its newest creation, which it has only referred to as a ‘new super sports car’.
For now, details are being kept strictly under wraps, but the carmaker has promised the new motor ‘guarantees innovative technological solutions and impressive aerodynamic performance’.

Maserati has teased a ‘one-of-a-kind’ car
The luxury car maker has had a busy few months – back in April this year it shared details of its $2.6 million electric yacht after teaming up with Vita Power.
And just last month, it announced it was marking two decades of its MC12 by releasing two special edition MC20s.
Now it’s getting ready to launch its mysterious new supercar.
The Italian car manufacturer said its upcoming vehicle will be a ‘one-of-a-kind car with an unmistakable aesthetic’ and will come with an abundance of customizable options.
“This powerful car – designed, developed, and produced entirely in Italy by Maserati – inherits the racing spirit of the Maserati GT2, the spearhead of the Modena brand’s racing production; at the same time, it is a further evolution of the MC20, the Trident’s halo car, first equipped with the unmistakable V6 Nettuno engine,” it said in a press release.
The car will allow drivers to ‘feel like a true racer’
The company goes on to say it will feature details of a racing car ‘without sacrificing the comfort and hallmarks of road models’ and vowed that it will make drivers ‘feel like a true racer, even off the track’. Sounds good to us.
Given the promises made, lightweight carbon fiber is almost certain to appear – but for now, all we have to go on is a shadowy, silhouette of a teaser image.
Although this does appear to heavily hint at carbon fiber, showing flared front wings, and new headlights.
The car will be unveiled at The Quail on Friday, 16 August at 9.12 am PST, where it will sit alongside the MC20 Icona and MCXtrema.
Maserati has previously launched some of its coolest cars during Monterey Car Week.
So, we reckon this will definitely be one to watch out for.
