A man surprised his parents by completely restoring their 2006 Jeep Wrangler and getting it looking brand-new again.

The couple bought the Jeep for just $3,000, but – as the price suggests – it wasn’t in the best shape.

The SUV was no longer running and that was just the start of its problems.

However, their son wasn’t going to let that stop him and set about completely restoring it.

The Jeep was in a need of a full restoration

We love see an old and forgotten car given a new lease on life thanks to a restoration, like this Toyota Celica GT-Four that was lovingly restored by its new owner or this barn find Ferrari 512BBi that was brought back to life after 17 years off the road.

However, this restoring story is an even happier one, because the man who carried it out did it to show his parents how much he appreciates them. How sweet is that?

Zach, from the Ultimate Rebuilds YouTube channel, spent several weeks working away on the Jeep, determined to turn into his parents’ ‘dream’ vehicle.

During that time, he got the engine working and completely overhauled the interiors.

But with plenty of work still to do, Zach decided to tackle the restoration head on in secret so that he could surprise his folks with their fully restored vehicle.

Oh and Zach had just six days to finish off the project before his parents returned home from their vacation.

No pressure then.

His parents were delighted with the restoration

Zach wanted to respray the Jeep yellow – his mom’s favorite color – and needed to source some original fenders to replace the old ones.

He also needed to fix some dents, dings, and gouges in the bodywork.

After working tirelessly on the Jeep for days, Zach managed to get the Jeep finished – and before his parents returned.

So the time came for the big reveal, and – as you can imagine – his parents were absolutely delighted with their ‘dream Jeep’.

After they arrived back, Zach told his dad that there was a problem with the garage door but when he pushed open the door he was met with the sight of his newly restored motor.

“Wow, this looks great,” he said. “I love it. Thank you.”

Next up, it was mom’s turn to see the car and she was even more enthusiastic than her husband.

“That looks so good,” she said as she checked out the bright yellow Jeep.

“It looks awesome!”

It certainly does.
