Apple’s Scary Fast event unveils huge new products and most powerful technology ever

Apple just held its ‘Scary Fast’ launch event.

The name refers to the high-speed products the company announced – plus it was held in time for Halloween.

The new MacBooks, iMac and a powerful line of chips have excited many, but lots of Apple fans are disappointed by the lack of certain accessories.

Apple used the launch as a chance to flex the specs of the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

The event was filmed cinematically in high-definition, all shot on an iPhone.

The first main announcement at Scary Fast was Apple’s new family of chips.

The M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max are the most advanced chips ever built for a personal computer.

They’re built on 3‑nanometer technology, the best in the industry for performance and power, and they are created for people with an ‘extreme workflow’.

“It pushes the limits of what a computer can do,” Apple says.

This makes the new chips ideal for coders, video editors, gamers, music producers and scientists.

Or just anyone who wants a really, really fast computer.

To put it in perspective: a 14″ MacBook Pro with the M3 Max chip will be nearly 50% faster than before.

Apple then announced its update to the iMacs.

They will now all come with the M3 chip, with the option to upgrade to the M3 Pro or M3 Max.

But besides that, not much has changed.

Many had hoped for new colors, display updates or a bigger model.

Next to get an M3 upgrade were the MacBooks as both the 14″ and the 16″ come with Apple’s new chips.

The new models come with a fingerprint-resistant coating and the battery life has also been increased, with the 14″ having 18 hours and the 16″ lasting for 22 hours.

There is also a new color choice, Space Gray, but otherwise, the MacBooks are pretty much the same as previous models.

The base version is $1,599 but a fully specced-out 16″ will go for $7,199.

That rather hefty price will get you a 16-core CPU, 40-core GPU, 48G memory and 1TB of storage.

While these new specs are impressive, some fans were left feeling underwhelmed.

In the lead-up, predictions were made for a new iPad announcement as well as updated USB-C accessories, neither of which were seen.

“Most of this event could’ve been a press release,” Zollotech, an Apple expert, said.

“Maybe that was the meaning of ‘Scary Fast’: not only the processors but also the event.”
