Black Wolf ridesharing app

A new ride-sharing app has just launched in the US, but it’s unlike Uber or Lyft.

The drivers of Black Wolf are not only highly trained in security, but they’re also armed with guns.

Black Wolf founder Kerry King Brown said “what I’m creating is a necessary evil. It’s a necessity”.

Brown launched his company just last week, and it’s already been downloaded by 100,000 people.

Brown, who has worked as a private investigator and bodyguard for celebrities and politicians, said everyday people deserved protection too.

“Who are mostly on the news getting killed, robbed? The average person,” he told Atlanta First News

When you request a driver on the app you can choose between an unarmed driver and one who is armed.

Both are highly trained, with minimum five years’ experience in either law enforcement, the military, or private security.

The drivers, who all go through background checks, are also trained to de-escalate potentially dangerous situations.

“We’re not here to fight anybody, we’re not here to draw guns, even though it says armed, we’re trained not to do that,” Brown said.

Each car is also fitted with just about anything a passenger might need including first aid kits and the drivers are trained in CPR.

“We want to show you guys that safety comes first,” he said.

The Black Wolf ride-sharing app is currently only available in Atlanta, but its creator plans to expand it to other states across the USA.

The base price for a ride is $50 for an unarmed driver and $60 for an armed driver, then it’s $1.75 per mile on top of that.

So, it’s not cheap, but that’s not the point.

Brown says the Black Wolf app is filling a hole in the market that Americans have been desperately seeking for a long time.
