Brabus unveils a 1,000-horsepower sedan in a sleek gray suit

This is the new Brabus 1000 All Gray, and it’s based on the Mercedes-AMG S 63 E Performance.

More to the point, it is proof that the brand is, at least in part, transitioning away from its traditionally outrageous design.

The new 1000 All Gray is relatively subtle.

The name tells the story because while the car is ‘all gray’, it has an incredible amount of power at its disposal.

There’s a reason why Brabus calls it the 1000 All Gray

Brabus often gives its cars self-descriptive names, and this new model is no exception.

This Mercedes-AMG S 63 is called the All Gray, because everything, from the body panels to the 22-inch mono-block wheels and the interior, is gray.

The gray theme continues inside, with gray leather upholstery paired with ‘Shadow Gray’ and high-gloss carbon elements.

They also call it the ‘1000’, because that’s the amount of horsepower that the E-Performance (=hybrid) 4.5-liter twin-turbo V8 engine under the hood makes.

According to the German high-peerformance brand, this hybrid sedan is capable of reaching 60mph from a standstill in just 3.1 seconds, and the top speed is 180mph – or 290km/h.

The 1000 All Gray is a subtle, discreet vehicle.

This used to be the exception but it is becoming a bit common.

Not long ago, the company launched a similarly restrained Rolls-Royce.

But Brabus is still capable of going in a completely different direction with its vehicles.
