Brad Pitt has been working on an unnamed F1 movie project and some juicy details are now emerging.

The 59-year-old star will be attending the upcoming Formula One GP at Silverstone in the UK this weekend.

And he’ll be doing more than just standing around and looking at the cars.

Yep, Brad is going to drive an actual F1 car.

Brad Pitt will collaborate with Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton for technical advice, and the seven-time world champion is also expected to appear in the film.

For safety reasons – and bureaucracy, probably – F1 teams have been going back and forth about what Brad Pitt can and cannot actually do.

Formula One’s governing body, the FIA, has finally agreed to let Brad Pitt drive an F1 car (pictured below) that was built specifically for the movie.

Dubbed APXGP, which is also the name of the fictional team in the movie, the car follows F1 regulations and it was built by Mercedes using a Formula 2 chassis.

What we know about Brad Pitt and his F1 movie

The movie is being developed by Apple Studios for Apple TV but to say that they’re keeping details under wraps would be an understatement.

The sports drama film focuses on Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt), a Formula One driver who comes out of retirement to mentor a younger driver.

The movie also stars Damson Idris (Black Mirror), Kerry Condon (Ray Donovan), and Tobias Menzies (Outlander, The Crown).

It will also be directed by Joseph Kosinski, the man behind Top Gun: Maverick, Oblivion and Tron: Legacy.
