Elon Musk has announced that no bullets penetrated the Cybertruck when a magazine of Tommy gun pellets was shot at the driver door.

Footage suggesting the bizarre test had taken place dropped after a negative Q3 earnings call for Tesla.

During the call, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said the company had “dug its own grave” with the Cybertruck.

Controversy still surrounds the size of the Cybertruck, its price and whether it will fit into a regular garage.

The video then appeared on X, formerly known as Twitter.

It was posted by the official auto club Tesla Owners of Silicon Valley.

The footage appears to show a Tesla Cybertruck covered in bullet marks down one side.

It, of course, spread quickly across social media.

Within 10 minutes of the initial video being posted and an outpouring of fan speculation, Tesla CEO, Elon Musk spoke up.

He explained to X users what it was they were looking at.

“We emptied the entire drum magazine of a Tommy gun into the driver door Al Capone style.

“No bullets penetrated into the passenger compartment,” he said.

However critics were quick to cast doubt on the claim asking for video evidence of the test happening.

“Personally I think this was staged. The explanation didn’t make sense,” one said.

“Video or it never happened,” another said.

“Good luck none of the bullets hit the window,” a third said.

Video from the 2019 launch of the Cybertruck was recirculated ironically.

It shows the Cybertruck window shattering in the middle of a durability demonstration.

Others disagreed with the negativity.

“Unbelievably awesome,” one said.

Meanwhile others were concerned about the gun used.

“What caliber bullets? Assuming 9mm? It better not be 45,” one said.

Another user replied: “If they used a true Thompson fully automatic, it was a 45,” they said.

The hotly anticipated Cybertrucks are set to be delivered to their owners next month.
