If you haven’t managed to make it to the bustling city of Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, here’s a POV of the elevator inside the Burj Khalifa.
The video is a POV of one of the main attractions of the stunning city.
And it’s the next best thing to actually being there.

Once inside the ultra-modern doors of the ‘Vertical City’ – there’s only one way to go: up.
You might already know that the Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world.
It also holds records for being the tallest man-made structure in the world, tallest free-standing structure in the world, and the largest number of storeys in the world.
But it has competition: with Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah Tower soon be the world’s tallest skyscraper.
With all those accolades to its name, it also required another record-breaker to access its full 828 m (2,717 ft): the worlds fastest elevator.
Size certainly is everything in Dubai with the city to build the world’s largest beach complete with high-tech bio domes.
The elevator in the Burj Khalifa is an incredible feet of engineering to begin with, boasting 57 elevators and eight escalators for residents and visitors.
The rise of the building’s main elevators is 504 m (1,654 ft) – more than in any other high-rise building in the world.
That’s almost one-and-a-half times that of the Empire State Building in New York at 381 m (1,250 ft).
Two double-deck elevators lead exclusively to a viewing platform on the 124th floor at a height of 452 m (1,483 ft).
The double deck cabs have a capacity for 12 to 14 people, and the elevators go fast – really fast.
They travel at an eye-watering 10 meters (33 ft) per second.
But the smooth ride and the dazzling 360° lightshow mean you barely notice it’s moving – even if you’re a little anxious about elevator rides.
The video, shared by travel content creator, Walking OZ, shows tourists joking about feeling unsure as they climb aboard the dark elevator.
But as the doors silently close and the lift begins its smooth ascent upwards, a light show of fireworks, the Dubai skyline and finally, space, is distraction enough.
“Only in Dubai!” says one person.
Another exclaims: “It’s really smooth.”
While a third agrees: “I didn’t even feel the acceleration.”
