This supercharged Camaro ZL1 was purchased by a car rebuild expert sight unseen.
He purchased the muscle car from an auction at a discounted price due to its ‘bad clutch’ listing.
Not only did the Chevy have a bad clutch, but the listing included a rough condition rating and noted structural damage.
Despite this, though, several performance upgrades were intriguing enough to prompt the purchase.

Clutch issue with the Camaro ZL1
After having the muscle car delivered, Samcrac set out to inspect it and discovered that the clutch problem.
The issue stemmed from a loss of hydraulic pressure, which was due to the clutch fluid reservoir being upside down.
In other Camaro-related news, a man spent $77k on a Covey Camaro ZL1 to drive only 10 miles.
Meanwhile, this $500k Camaro has a will street racing past and once took a bullet.
Was it an easy fix?
In short – yes.
Samcrac repositioned the reservoir and purged the old fluid, which allowed the clutch pedal to regain functionality.
So, after all that, the clutch wasn’t actually damaged and the issue was resolved in three minutes.
Modifications and performance
After doing some digging online, Samcrac found that that previous owner had posted some information about the muscle car on a forum.
It turns out the Camaro ZL1 is equipped with multiple performance modifications, including cameo heads, a ported blower, and significant cooling enhancements.
Apparently, those modifications contribute to its claimed output of 715 wheel horsepower.
Overall condition of the Camaro ZL1
After a comprehensive inspection of the vehicle and its fluids, Samcrac confirmed that the clutch and transmission appeared to be in good condition.
This suggests that the previous issues were misdiagnosed, which was good news for the car rebuild expert.
That being said, the car was graded in rough condition with a score of 1.9 out of five, due to some dings in the exterior, but considering this score, the auction photos looked decent.
Despite the minor flaws he needs to carry out, no doubt Samcrac will flip the Camaro ZL1 for tidy money.
