Emergency situations like Hurricane Milton can be stressful, especially if you own a bunch of valuables like a brand-new Chevy Corvette — and this Florida man had an idea.
This TikTok owner had a Corvette, and he came up with an unusual way of protecting his sports car from the Category 3 hurricane.
Moreover, it wasn’t a complex solution at all but rather something simple that he thought would be effective.
The car owner took a humongous piece of plastic to wrap his car.

Protecting a Chevy Corvette from Hurricane Milton
TikTok user @gucci_lemon_reloaded, residing in Palm Beach, Florida, had recently bought a new Chevy Corvette.
Amidst the concerning situation in Florida, he was naturally worried about the hurricane damaging his car.
His plan consisted of getting an industrial-grade sheet of plastic to use as a car wrap.
That’s precisely what he did, and he posted a video about it.

Note that his video mentions Milton as a Category 5 hurricane — which it originally was thought to be — but thankfully, it lost some power and became a Category 3 after landfall.
Only specialized vehicles like this tornado-proof tank are safe, and cars are rather fragile when it comes to situations like these.
So, how does one wrap a sports car in plastic?
The plastic gift-wrap solution
It’s not a body wrap but instead a complete cover.
To protect his ride, the Florida man first drove the car out of his garage and covered the garage floor with a plastic sheet.
Further, he drove the Corvette back in and tied the sheet from the top.
Nobody knew how well it would fare out since this is a makeshift (and precautionary) solution.
Users on TikTok were divided, with some thinking that he had cracked the ultimate way of protecting cars.
However, others thought that it was basically a gift wrap waiting to be taken away.
We do know that cars and hurricanes don’t mix well, as several Cybertruck owners shared their experiences after Hurricane Helene.
All things considered, we do hope that his Chevy Corvette stays safe.
