One guy made a $85K mistake when he bought his first supercar, which was a used Lamborghini Gallardo from a sketchy dealership.

It is easy to imagine him thinking to himself that he must have gotten a deal of a lifetime.

But the truth is far from that.

The reality was that the supercar was in terrible condition both mechanically and cosmetically.

$85K mistake: buying a used Lamborghini Gallardo

The owner of the car posted about his terrible purchase on the Exotic Car Hacks Facebook group.

It piqued the interest of the group admin and he made a video to warn others not to make the same mistake.

In the video, he listed all the red flags that the owner didn’t notice when buying the used Lamborghini Gallardo.

His first mistake was not doing a private purchase inspection.

By doing a private purchase inspection, he could’ve hired a certified mechanic to ensure that the condition of the car matched the given description.

Getting a private purchase inspection is one of the most important steps to follow when buying a used supercar.

The condition of the purchased supercar matters

Unfortunately, the used Lamborghini Gallardo was in very poor condition.

The owner likely had to spend quite a lot of money to fix the cosmetic issues.

Even the body of the Gallardo was quite damaged with even door handles being damaged, which are quite expensive.

Mechanically speaking, the supercar also had worn-down tires and brakes.

Unfortunately, even the Lamborghini logo was in quite bad shape after sitting in the sun for so long.

However, you can avoid these kinds of mistakes when buying a supercar yourself.

Especially one that is second-hand.

Take this story as a precautionary tale and make sure to get a proper inspection before buying a car.
